Oolitic, Ind., June 18, 2015 – A new video made with the use of a camera-equipped drone tells the story of Indiana Limestone Company – spectacularly and unforgettably. The production combines breathtaking flyover footage with shots of the company’s state-of-the-art milling operations and insets of iconic structures made from its stone. The video was developed from conception through production and post-production phases by Fat Atom, ILCO’s Carmel, Ind.-based advertising and marketing agency of record.

Brice Brenneman of Fat Atom, pilot and camera operator for the shoot, used a DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ drone with onboard three-axis gyro-stabilized full HD camera. The drone was operated via remote control near all the shot locations. Flight and shooting were carried out under the safety supervision of Duffe Elkins, ILCO COO, with the assistance of Moira Vekovic and Steven Musngi from Fat Atom as spotters and Creative Director respectively.

To begin the three-minute, 15-second production, the camera rises beyond the production house at an ILCO quarry and arcs out above the active operations beyond. As a narrator describes the company’s storied history and contemporary success, the eye in the sky focuses on active work below, including a dramatic shot of new stone being cut from a limestone ledge.

Inset shots of historical buildings (Empire State Building, the Pentagon) and recent projects (National Holocaust Museum, New York’s 15 Central Park West) built with the company’s stone are featured, along with documentation on finishing operations, showcasing a light fabrication process that produces caps, sills, and pavers.
