Indiana Limestone to Showcase Stone Panel Products at Architecture Expo 2018, NYC
Bloomington, Ind., June 7, 2018 -Making the beauty, versatility, and permanence of natural stone more accessible than ever, Indiana Limestone Company will feature new stone panel products in Booth 2075 at the AIA Conference on Architecture Expo 2018, June 21-22 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.
Prominent at the company’s 20 x 20 exhibit will be new lightweight, composite Indiana Limestone panels in a wall setting that illuminates the design capabilities of this construction technology. These products are designed for mid-rise and high-rise applications where Miami-Dade NOA or High-Velocity Hurricane-Zone (HVHZ) performance is required.
Also featured are full-depth and veneer solutions from the company.
The constantly growing variety and versatility of the company’s design and construction solutions mean that Indiana Limestone Company constantly evolves new partnerships with other leaders in the building field. “The topic of cladding is complex and something that Architects love to learn about,” stated Ben Wojcikiewicz, Director of Product Development and Marketing.
“To that point, we have designed our new exhibit to focus not only on the beauty of our materials, but also to educate Architects on best practices in their application with tear-away exhibits of construction details. With the introduction of lightweight panels, Indiana Limestone material can be specified in nearly every cladding application. We’re very excited to partner with other market leaders to tell, and show, our story.”
For the display, Indiana Limestone Company’s lightweight-panel products are showcased in a continuous insulation detail alongside products from Rainscreen Solutions and the ROCKWOOL Group. Its full-bed veneer line is shown in a residential rain screen detail constructed with products from ROCKWOOL, Dorken, and Heckmann Anchors. The natural stone thin veneer category displays drainage matts from Masonry Technology, Inc., and the LATICRETE Masonry Veneer Installation System (MVIS).
In addition to the new displays the Indiana Limestone Company is participating in on-floor education and deploying highly experienced staff members to discuss the design potential of all of their cladding options.
“Having a CEU on the benefits of designing with lightweight limestone panel systems that takes place on the AIA show floor is a first for Indiana Limestone and a first in the lightweight panel category,” said David Roberts, VP of Panelized Systems. “These systems have been around for a while but are really coming into their own with energy codes pushing towards designing with continuous insulation and lighter building structures as design requirements. Architects are eager to learn about them.”
This focus on the appeal of limestone quarried in the Hoosier State could not be more appropriate, as this premier building material has long had a significant influence on New York’s built environment.
Among the city’s most prominent landmarks are many constructed with Indiana Limestone, including the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, the Flatiron Building, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Barclay’s Bank, and more recently the award-winning residential location at 15 Central Park West.
Year after year, AIA Expo is one of the premier events on the architecture show calendar, drawing attendees from around the world. Nearly 800 product manufacturers are bringing what’s new, next, and cutting-edge in architecture and design to the show.
As a bonus for visitors the company will also be giving away one helicopter tour of Manhattan architectural highlights, for the selected attendee and a guest; details will be available at the booth.
