Bloomington, Ind., July 11, 2018 – Lightweight natural stone panels from Indiana Limestone Company drew strong interest at the AIA Conference on Architecture Expo 2018, June 21-22 in New York City. Visitors responded to the prospect of applying the beauty, versatility, and permanence of premier limestone in a wider range of applications than was previously available.

These new lightweight, composite Indiana Limestone panels were presented in a wall setting illuminating the design capabilities of this advanced construction technology. At a show marked by exceptional attendance, the Indiana Limestone display attracted sustained attention from visitors representing firms with a wide variety of design and construction specialties.

The products are designed for mid-rise and high-rise applications where Miami-Dade NOA or High-Velocity Hurricane-Zone (HVHZ) performance is required. These thin limestone panels weigh in at 80% less than solid slabs, which translates to a vastly lighter load – on structures, labor crews, and equipment costs. They now make it possible for Indiana Limestone materials to be used in nearly every cladding application.

Its full bed veneer line is shown in a residential rainscreen detail constructed with products from ROCKWOOL, Dorken, and Heckmann Anchors. The natural stone thin veneer category displays drainage matts from Masonry Technology, Inc., and the LATICRETE Masonry Veneer Installation System (MVIS).
